Three Steps to Connect
Follow this guided process to establish a secure, bidirectional connection between your platforms.
Step 1: Start the Integration
Start the Integration
This part happens from your Homeowner.ai dashboard. You'll begin setting up the integration here, then continue to Cloze in Step 2 to generate the API key.
Log in to your Homeowner.ai Professional account.
Click Import Contacts, then select
Get Started from the import window.
Tip: You can also begin the process from
the Contacts page.
Choose Cloze from the list of available CRM integrations.
Click Connect Account and authenticate with your Cloze credentials to authorize data access.
When the API Key window appears, click the Cloze User Settings > Integrations link. This opens the Cloze sign-in page where you'll generate your API key.
Step 2: Generate the API Key in Cloze
Generate Your API Key in Cloze
You'll need a Cloze CRM API key to authorize the connection. It gives secure access to your contact data and writes activity back to your CRM. Sign in to Cloze directly, or follow the redirect from Step 1.
Log in to your Cloze account. From the main navigation, click Settings.
From the left navigation menu, select:
Integrations → API Keys
Click Generate API Key.
Enter:
✓ Name (Example: Homeowner.ai
Integration)
✓ Description (optional)
Optional: Set an Expiration Date.
When the expiration date is reached:
✓ The key status changes
to Expired.
✓ Access is disabled beginning
at 12:01 AM on that date.
Before the key can be created:
✓ Check the API Usage Acknowledgment
box.
✓ Complete any required
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) verification.
Once generated, copy the API key immediately.
Important: For security reasons, Cloze may
not display the complete API key again after this step.
Step 3: Connect the Platforms
Complete the Connection
With your API key in hand, return to Homeowner.ai to authorize the connection and start syncing.
⚠ If you previously connected your CRM through API Nation or imported contacts via CSV, you'll need to establish the new in-platform CRM connection to enable continuous syncing and write-back functionality.
Go back to the API Key window you opened during Step 1.
Paste the copied API key into the field provided.
Click Save.
Your initial sync will begin automatically.
Most databases sync within 3–5 minutes. Larger contact lists may take additional time to complete.
What Happens Next
After the connection is saved:
- Your Cloze contacts begin syncing automatically.
- Homeowner activity and engagement will write back into Cloze.
- Most contact databases complete their initial sync within 3–5 minutes.
- Larger databases may require additional time.
Troubleshooting
Follow this guided process to establish a secure, bidirectional connection between your platforms.
Question 1: I previously connected through API Nation.
You'll need to reconnect using the new in-platform Lofty integration to enable continuous synchronization and CRM write-back.
Question 2: I imported contacts using a CSV.
CSV imports are one-time imports only. To enable automatic syncing and write-back, connect your Lofty account using this integration.
Question 3: My contacts haven't appeared yet.
Most accounts complete syncing within 3–5 minutes, but larger contact databases can take longer. If your contacts still haven't appeared after a reasonable amount of time, contact Support.

Before You Begin
Before You Begin You will need your Cloze login credentials with
permission
to authorize third-party integrations. Cloze connects through a secure
sign-in, so no API key is required.
Note: If you previously connected your CRM through
API Nation or imported contacts via CSV, you will need to establish

How to Connect
1. Log in to your Homeowner.ai Professional account.
2. Navigate to the Contacts page.
3. Click Import My Contacts.
4. In the Import Contacts window, click Get Started.
5. Select Cloze from the list of CRM options.
Authorize Your Cloze Account
1. On the Connect Your Cloze Account screen, click Connect Account.
2. A secure Cloze sign-in window will open. Log in with your Cloze credentials.
3. Review and approve the requested access to complete authorization.
Your initial sync will begin automatically. Most databases sync within 3-5 minutes, though larger contact lists may take longer.
